artto
This is a true story. I was at the Chicago Blues Fest yesterday. I was listeningto Mary Lane’sBlues All Stars at the Gibson Crossroads stage. This year I guess Gibson(guitars) decided to put their touring gallery trailer near their sponsored stageas it used to be in the center of the Fest with other retail type sponsors. I was standing about 50 yards from the stage, the soundbooth was about half way between me and the stage. Every time the music stoppedbetween songs, I heard some annoying sound coming from behind me off to theright. I glanced back and saw a music video playing on a TV by the entry to thetrailer guitar display gallery. I thought “What are they doing trying to playthat TV sound outside near a live stage with sound reinforcement?” When themusic started playing you couldn’t hear it as it was drowned out. After aboutthe third song finishes I’m thinking “Damn, that’s annoying and it sounds like$#!T.” (not the band ~ but the TV/video sound that (thankfully) kept gettingdrowned out. EDIT sorry, wrong pic -this is the stage. apparently I can't upload two pics to the same post

thebes
So Arto, how did the story end? Did you reach in your back pocket, pull out spare pair of LaScalas and plug them in. Of course, when the sound came forth, the folks abandoned the stage, gathered around the video and low and behold the Kingdom Of Gibson sold 65,000 guitars in one day. They were so grateful you are right now winging your way by private jet for a summer of fun on the French Riveria.

Coytee
So now their ads can read "In addtion to room filling sound, we now provide venue filling sound, as long as the primary act isn't playing" [:^)]
