Blvdre
I thought I would pass this along to others. I think it's appropriate, but please let me know if you think otherwise. I recently sold my Wright gear to a gentleman who is now enjoying them immensly. I would have loved to keep them, but needed the money, so have downgraded. He contacted Wright Sound looking for documention, and received this response from George's office manager (edited out non-relevant material): ...And now the bad news. I’ve called Wright Sound three times today, toget manuals for the 3.5s and preamp, and this last call got through. The woman answering the phone (his office manager) told me that Georgeis in the hospital and terminally ill, likely to die in the next fewdays. He had open-heart surgery on 5 August, did quite well with thesurgery, but 10 minutes after they removed the respirator, he stoppedbreathing and went into cardiac arrest. They had trouble re-intubatinghim, and by all accounts, he appears to be brain-dead at this point. They are doing an EEG tonight to see if there is any brain activity atall, but even if there is, he is going downhill quickly.Very sad. I am told he by his office manager that he was the entirecompany. There was a technician that did some of the wiring, but Georgedid just about everything, and all the circuits and designs he kept inhis head. His son is with him now, back from an emergency leave fromthe military (stationed in Japan) and his ex-wife is with him as well(they were close friends after their marriage). It is a great loss. Very sad to hear. My thought and wishes go out to his family and loved ones.

seti
This is very sad news. I've been saying this for years but George Wright is one of the great American audio designers and builders. I've emailed many times over the years and he was always helpful and even answered my most basic questions. This makes me wish I had bought the AG-1000 preamp that was on audiogon this week for $750. Thanks for the great designs George. You will be missed.
Daddy Dee
God bless Geo Wright. His work has blessed me listening to wonderful sounding music. The two or three occasions we had to speak on the phone it was always fun being in conversation with the man.
