Need recommendations for slim receiver, please.

I will appreciate your recommendations for slim-line (short) receivers for use as secondary, bedroom background (low-level) listening.

I will have two RB-75s next to a TV in a cabinet with a XW-300 sub. The receiver will also need to drive a pair of in-wall RCW-5s in the bathroom.

The target is a slim-line, stereo receiver with a sub out and A/B speakers selection that sounds good.

Thanks!!

I have been watching for the same thing. I also want a cool amp as the space surrounding my receiver will be limited.

http://www.jeff-young-design.com/JVC/receivers-IF.htm This is a listin of a lot of JVC units. Just scroll down and look at the units using a Hybrid Digital amp. These are very thin and should run cool.

I have also been watching the Panasonic SA XR series on Ebay for a while. These are very thin as well. Here is for sale now

The XR series includes XR25, 45, 57, 70 and I'm sure there are others. I'm trying to pick up either a slim panasonic or JVC for under $100 but I keep getting sniped and losing out by 1 bid.

I have been using a 10 watt HLLY T-amp, which is VERY small, with my TV but I'd like to add a small receiver with digital inputs for my PS3/360 so that's why I'm looking at these other units.

Cambridge Audio also offers thin 2 channel receivers, like Azur 340R, but they are more $$ than I want to spend.

Good luck and please share what you find that works for you.

Another Idea is an Integrated Amp.

Creek Audio makes one with 80 wpc . Nice units but fairly pricey............ Lots of good deals on Ebay or audiogon for these. I used to have one that was 20 years old and worked like a champ...............

Don't know if it is still true, but Cambridge Audio, used to provide the Parts for Creek. Creek being less expensive.

Found out - small ain't cheap............. From Audio Advisors..........

Evidently not. The NAD looks interesting, but it, too, is pricey.

If we go with a combo audio/video, I would think we would want Bluray. At some point, DVD format, (lower res) will likely fade away.
