kaiser SET say
I have a Nitty Gritty jobster......but who has some tips on really gettin' the vinyl squeaky clean. jc JC, your vinyl should not squeak[] With that said you are far ahead of me as I do not have a machine yet[] I usually clean mine with my Orbitrac and them a light brushing with my Hunt[]
muel
... gettin' the vinyl squeaky clean. I've made it squeak... actually it was more of a SCRREEEEEEEEEECH! [] Just started using DiscDoctor with nice results so far! No machine- just by hand with their brushes. He has some suggestions on using it with a machine. Charles Turner
For many years now I've used a piece of glass about 16 x 16 laid flat on a table...two mofi type velvet brushes...and cleaning fluids (one a deep cleaner and one a wash). Scrub the record good (about three rotations) by hand...first with the super cleaner...then vacuum...then repeat process with the wash. Label one brush cleaner and one wash. Charles Turner
I meant to add I've used a Nitty Gritty for years but blew off the fluid application side of it years ago in favor of hand scubbing
fini
I lay out two layers of micro-fiber towels (from Costco...cheap). I rinse the lp with reverse-osmosis water from my tap, then lay it on the towels. I drip some cheaner on then scrub it around with a disc doctor brush. I then rinse the record and the brush again, and perhaps do the process a second time. I repeat with side 2, then finish by patting dry the recors with another towel. It's usually very slightly damp, so I wiggle it around in the air a bit (each hand on opposite edges) until it's dry. A plastic-coated dish rack is used by some. artto
Smirnoff Silver (100 proof) on a new/clean DiscWasher brush. After its clean AND DRY, treat with GruvGlide according to the directions.
