Kain
I thought I would get people's opinions on this topic. zandern
I really don't notice a diffence great enough to make me want to keep them off. I love the look of having them off but I am in a small room with people I don't trust around my speakers so I keep them on to protect them. When I get my own place they will be off. ------------------ I like my bass like I like my women, deep and tight.
Kain
Thanks. So, you are saying that your speakers do sound better with grills off? ------------------ Coming soon... m00n
Well, I can tell you this much. I know for a FACT that they sound better with them on if you are me. Why you ask? Becuase I have two little ones running around and I guarantee you if not for the covers, there would be crayon scribbles, as well as Buzz Lightyear weapon impressions dented into the cones. And then there would be a daddy hand print impression on their little butts. So ya, make no mistake about it, they sound better with the grills on. ------------------ the m00n system RF-7 Front floors RC-7 Center RS-3II Surrounds (My update to RS-7) RSW-12 Subwoofer Harman Kardon AVR 520 Toshiba SD 3205 DVD Samsung 27" Flatscreen c>Microsoft XBOXc> f> This message has been edited by m00n on 04-29-2002 at 01:34 PM
iDunno
Yeah, but if you take the grills off with the RF/C/S/SW speakers, be VERY CAREFULL not to brake the prongs...it happened to my rf3s and they looks crappy now with all this super glu crap on it

easyeyes
Maybe it just mental for me, but I think that they sound better with the grills off. I have the KLF 30s and it's something about seeing the dual 12s, horns and tweeters that enhances the sound. Like Moon, I have little ones around the house, so the grills only come off when they are tucked away in their beds asleep. I've cleaned enough stains and hand prints off the grills already. My 2-year old daughter and I have had several run-ins about her hitting and pressing the grills. Not to mention the hole at the top of the speakers that's a great place to drop small objects. Lone Palm
I think this is in the realm of Phsycoacoustics. The grill is supposedly acosticly transparent. It seems to my ears that removing the grill lifts a veil off the music. I would like to know from someone at the factory if the speakers responce is measured with or without grills. LaScalas-none, My Heresys Have grills aas does my RC-3.
