Edroom
I picked up a sweet pair of speakers yesterday and was wondering if anyone could ID them or provide any info... I tried taking the back off, after removing about 20 screws I couldn't even pry it off and didnt want to damage it trying toooo hard. They look to be solid wood, maybe olive or a stained maple or something similar with perfect cane grills. my estimation would be late sixties, possibly earlier. thy have screwed on stands but look like they could hang on the wall, I havent hooked them up to listen yet...later today hopefully. I cant imagine they will have any Bass being so thin. Please look at the pics and any info would be helpfull! they had serial numbers taped on the back....B-526798 and B-526805 but no other info Thanks! pic 1 front Ed

Groomlakearea51
Given the depth, is it possible they were an early ES speaker?
seti
You may have to gently open them up and see what is inside. Take some pics and post them.
mustang guy
Perfect surround speakers. Just hang em on the wall. IMO, you should hook em up and listen to them before you start sepricating them. Somebody will come along some day and tell you what they are. The are nice looking! Klipsch Employees Trey Cannon Posted November 17, 2011 Klipsch Employees Share Posted November 17, 2011 They look a little like EPI speakers.
djk
Never saw an EPI that even looked remotely like that! They do look like 60s vintage Argos products inc. loudspeakers, perhaps the TX-12 or the Argos New Contempora.
Edroom
I have an old pair of Lafayette speakers that have a small resemblence, but other than that "sixties look" not much in common. I will have to work on getting the back off again...maybe I will have more luck with the other one... Ed
Edroom
It turns out they are Voice of Music Model 62 speakers, I stumbled on an ad for a similar looking speaker (it was a model 42) which led me to a site to identify them! web site is www.thevoiceofmusic.com They were $85.00 in 1962, they are 3 ways Ed
