richieb
- Ohh - thank you. This makes much more sense than what I'd heard of very large bearded men on a type of shoe allowing them to slide on frozen ponds, hitting either a frozen turd patty or one another with a curved stick and hoping the turd would land in a big fishing net. If it didn't they would all gather 'round and beat the livin' shite out of each other. A sport could probably be made of this if someone put forth the effort to think it through. It is made from tomatoes, black olives, capers, anchovies, onions, garlic, and herbs, usually oregano and parsley but sometimes also basil. It is an easy sauce, briefly cooked, and is very fragrant and spicy. Puttanesca translates as “in the style of the *****.” The name derives from the Italian word puttana which means *****. Puttana in turn arises from the Latin word putida which means stinking. http://www.foodreference.com/html/a-ladies-puttanesca.html play along with the theme of the sauce.. off of king crimson islands
