Quiet_Hollow
I'm posting this here simply because people on the forum may find this interesting or be in contact with someone who is seeking out a project just like this. It's my electric truck and it's on eBay right now. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/RARE-EV-S-10-Electric-GM-General-Motors-EV-1-Disney-Grounds-Vehicle-Chevrolet-/121113027966?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item1c32e6257e It's not stereo related, but at the heart of it all, it's an 85 kW three-channel amp just the same. I know some day, 20 years from now, I may regret this sale, but I have to let it go. Proud to have owned a little slice of vehicle history. This time around, I am affiliated. -QH P.S. - Amy, feel free to delete if you determine this post is bending any rules.
TasDom
That is pretty rare. With the escalating cost of fuel and many going green, not to mention the low mileage, you should have an easy sale. (am/fm radio for sale.....truck attached at no additional cost....now it's audio related! [] GLWS!

jacksonbart
A cool idea, just its more efficient to burn an actual fuel rather than a battery.

mustang guy
You have a huge feedback score! I've got a whopping 91 feedbacks. I bought this car today: http://www.seductionmotorsports.com/Seduction_Motorsports/Photo_Gallery_/Pages/Seduction_550_Spyder_1955_Replica.html I am going to try not to pull a James Dean in it. I'm pretty excited to get it in. It will ship from AZ to WV We
DizRotus
That Spyder is very cool. The price seems reasonable, given the content. What's the performance like? That's no Mustang.
Quiet_Hollow
You have a huge feedback score! I wish, but that's not my number. [:$]I'm selling the truck on consignment, and what you see on item page is the business' account info. Sweet looking car there. [Y]

I'm not sure how it will perform, but assuming the engine is about 150 HP and the car weighs about 1500 lbs, it should be about the same as a 300 hp motor in a 3000 lb car. That's not gonna set any records, but with lap belts I don't know if I want to. I just think these are the coolest cars ever. Kinda get sick of all the Shelby Cobra and 356 Speedster replicas. You never see 550 replicas. Nope, not a Mustang. Matter of fact, I only have one Mustang now. I'm gonna have to rename my account Canntmakeuphismind guy. DrWho
So how did you acquire it from Disney? I had heard of people modifying trucks to be electric, but never from the factory. Very cool.
DizRotus
So how did you acquire it from Disney? I had heard of people modifying trucks to be electric, but never from the factory. Very cool. Mike, At first I thought you were referring to me. Then I recalled there's also a Disney place.[] I had a lengthy and pleasant discussion with QH, and seriously considered bidding on the interesting truck. Something about from Disney to Disney that seemed like good Karma. But after being talked off the ledge by my brother, I'll defer to someone who has the time, technical expertise and discretionary financial resources to breathe new life into this piece of history. I can't do it justice. Best wishes to QH on the sale. Neil Disney
Quiet_Hollow
So how did you acquire it from Disney? I got it from a party that snatched it up at their fleet vehicle auction when their service contract expired. Very cool indeed. It's been a heck of a learning experience so far. The data and explanations contained in the maintenance manual set alone are worth a few college credits IMO. [Y] It is certainly impressive the wide margin by which this vehicle has been able to skirt public / media radar. It's proven to be one of the most clandestine open vehicle projects I've ever run across....especially considering the hubbub the project initially created on engineering campuses back in '97. I clearly recall the EV1 project, LPG fuel / two-stroke direct injection development, and active suspensions being the hot GM tech for that period. Best wishes to QH on the sale. Thanks again Neil. Good times.
DizRotus
I'm surprised GM doesn't buy these up, given its controlling attitude regarding the EV 1 car.
DizRotus
$3,900 winning bid. That's more than I would have bid, but less than I expected it to reach. As intriguing as it was, I couldn't afford to buy the truck, spend at least an additional $3,000 for batteries that might work well enough to confirm that it needs a new flux capacitor. For QH's sake, I was expecting (hoping) it would go for at least $5,000. Unfortunately, there was no last minute surge of sniped bids. It amazes me that intelligent people still bid on eBay any way other than sniped last second bids. Early bids only drive up the price and help the seller. In this case, a last second flurry of sniped bids would have helped QH. I hope our forum brother is pleased with the result. I know he's reluctantly passing the project to another custodian.
