SUB PLACEMENT HELP NEEDED

Recommended Posts

I recently relocated to Colorado and am in a much smaller home and am trying to set up my system. Would placing my sub (SVS PB-13 ULTRA) in the rear facing my front sound stage, which is three RF-7II'S, in the center between my seating positions 10 feet from the front center channel speaker be an issue. I only ask because it is my only option other than selling and buying a PC-13 Ultra to place in a corner. The room is 12.5' wide by 16.5' long, I have cathedral ceilings whith and an open concept if this info helps.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I posted this response in a similar thread yesterday, but feel adding the second, smaller sub on a side wall helped even out the bass:

I have my RSW-15 in the left rear corner behind me and bought a smaller RSW-12 to put in front on a side wall in front of a (unused) fireplace. Both are in less than an ideal place and sound AWESOME together...I don't notice that I have subs and the sound seems to emanate from the speakers.

Library Rear

For the record, this is a small area directly behind my LP and the front opens up to a small room with a high A-Frame ceiling...The whole area is approx 2,000 cu ft.

Well, set up the sub today and it sounds better than it ever has.

Just listened to some Rush at louder than recomended levels (thankfully the family is at work and school here so I am allowed)

very busy bass with alot going on musically, and everything sounded tight and incredible.

Wow.

Did not think I had room but it fits fine and looks great where I put it.

Thanks for all the input, now I need to change my ad, SVS no longer for sale.

Still Have a pair of RF-7II's for sale though.
