zingo
These are being sold locally, and I've never seen a version exactly like this. Seller says all the drivers are original, but he doesn't know much beyond that except that they sound good. Thanks for the help!
Thaddeus Smith
those look like vertical decorators. get the serials and you can decode them using this info: http://www.audiokarma.org/forums/showthread.php?t=147797
Budman
what Thaddeus Smith said above. and i'll add the following CD-15 stands for Cornwall Decorator 15" woofer didn't come with the bottom grill cover. can't make out the letter in the serial number but its gotta be from the 60's k-77 round tweeter / k-55V midrange / K-33 woofer with a B ( Brownsville ) or P ( Paducah ) Edited January 14, 2014 by Budman
zingo
Thanks guys! They look a little rough, but might be worth a look/listen. Any idea how the vertical horn orientation compares aurally to the latter horizontal? I like the idea that they would be fairly kid proof... mungkiman
I've never seen Decorators of that vintage with visible screw heads for the tweeter and mid horns (?). Is something printed on the woofer dust cap? Haven't seen that either... Those questions aside, verticals are my Cornwall preference. CECAA850
How much is he asking?
zingo
I asked about the woofer and he said they are original, so it might be reflection from the camera flash or something similar. The seller is asking $1200 which is just crazy, but I though it was worth looking into since I've only ever seen the horizontal versions locally. mungkiman
Even the Walnut verticals in CO are overpriced (eBay) with grills and badges, and a BIN of $1098: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Klipsch-Cornwall-Vintage-Speakers-Type-C-WO-15-1972-Walnut-Finish-/221352593762?pt=Vintage_Electronics_R2&hash=item3389a48962
