JJkizak
the question is why is someone that doesn't like syfy watching this move? Just because it happened in space doesn't make it good science fiction. Good science fiction is at least somewhat intelligent and geeky. This just wasn't. I don't consider it science fiction at all really but I guess technically it fits the definition. For some reason older people really liked it. It did really well at the box office due to the 50-60 somethings showing up in droves, probably because they were alive during the moon landings and whatnot. "Why don't you have positive feelings, it's a beautiful day and your giving me those negative feelings" Quote from "Oddball" in Kelley's Heroes. Would love to see where your getting this info about what age group went to this movie. and who liked it and who didn't. Please give us a link. And honestly I think the statement that it only did well because age 50-60 is pretty absurd. And honestly I think the statement that it only did well because age 50-60 is pretty absurd. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/gravity-captain-phillips-box-office-650257 "As moviegoers began lining up for Gravity in early October, box-office observers predicted that the Saturday haul would increase by 5 percent over the Friday opening. But defying the normal pattern, Alfonso Cuaron's space epic shot up 32 percent on Saturday on its way to a $55.8 million opening, one of the top October debuts of all time. The secret? Instead of younger males, who typically turn out on Friday nights, the film drew older ticket buyers -- and especially baby boomers -- who waited a day to see favorites Sandra Bullock and George Clooney." http://www.thewrap.com/baby-boomers-driving-box-office-can-keep/ Baby Boomers have been the driving force at the box office of late, powering “Gravity” http://www.hollywoodbranded.com/baby-boomers-the-ideal-movie-going-audience-large-numbers-with-money-to-spend/ "The box office reign of one of the most successful films this year, ‘Gravity,’ is attributed to numerous reasons, one of them being its prominent appeal to Baby Boomers." http://millionairecorner.com/Content_Blog/If-You-Film-It-Baby-Boomers-Will-Come.aspx "82 percent of “Gravity’s” audience was over 25 and 60 percent over 35" For some reason older people really liked it. It did really well at the box office due to the 50-60 somethings showing up in droves So, what is absurd about this statement again?
