That guy in the video was using carpet spikes on his hardwood, don't do that.. Haha!

I have heard of some people using the spikes on hardwood floors, but I would tend to think it would damage the flooring. I don't have any hardwood in the basement, it's travertine tile and carpet.

My set-up is based around the Atmos speaker placement of 7.4.4 (Using in-ceiling speakers). I want to make sure that I am approaching this properly with the height placement of the surrounds. From what I have read from the Dolby Atmos installation guide, " All listener speakers should be at the same height, typically 3.9 feet (1.2 meters), which is ear level for the average seated listener (as defined in ITURBS.1116-1). If possible, the height of the rear speakers should be the same as the height of the front speakers."

 

Here's a diagram that I have made for visual reference. Does this seem to be correct?
