Use: home 2 channel I have an Oppo BDP 105 with headphone jack, Mac Mini, iPad. My NBS pre has no headphone capability but does have a second pre out that I could perhaps use with a headphone amp I haven't listened to headphones on a stereo in a LONG time and have only heard closed over the ear when I did. muel Posted March 18, 2015 Share Posted March 18, 2015 What are your thoughts about a headphone amp? You would want to be sure the amp would drive the headphones you are considering. My AKG 240df requires 600 ohms which eliminates some options. For headphones I really like the Beyerdynamics but their top end models will push your budget up unless you find a deal used. I do good now to listen to my 2 channel once every 2 weeks or so; but I LIKE it. If the Oppo 105 could drive the headphones I wouldn't need one, right? Except for vinyl of course.
