Cornwall B2 crossovers (DeanG, battery biased)

Yup

I'm no fan of Sonicap. I've used Sonicaps in the tweeter and midhorn section of my Cornwall B2 networks. To my ears, they have a thin harsh plastic sound about them...I listen to the speakers about 5-6 months that way. It was about the time I then started listening to my coaxial speakers...hmm. Even the original Aerovox 3uF oil cap had a smoother more tolerable sound in the midhorn.

The battery biased B2 networks of mine have just a slight-ish plastic sound about them...but it's not harsh. They have more of a clean refined sound...it's hard to explain.

Even the Bennic and Dayton metalized polypropylene capacitors seem to sound a bit smoother than a Sonicap or a Solen...to my ears.

I think it's a good go between until one can pony up for full blown DeanG B2 network...like you did.

BTW, what's your take on the new B2 networks, Michael?

whAT would the ideal capacitor - I tried Solen - they call them high end - bad , and inconsistent on top of it - Mundorf maybe or Jensen -

Ha, I thought they'd take longer to sell. Replacements should be heading my way as of Wednesday. I'm fairly certain they'll be keepers. ;)
