oscarsear
Needed to upgrade el computer and wanted to stick with Apple/Mac stuff. My olde IMac has been a tank and still operates fine... it is just near functional incompatibility. Ended up with a Mac-Mini........ the smaller of the 2 products offered. For the $$$$ this thing is a spectacular deal. Some call it bare bones but if you do not require intense computing power it is perfect. I got an external CD driver/burner, used my existing wireless suite and matched to a small HDTV as a monitor. I should be good to go for another 8 or 9 years. Just sharing............ wstrickland1
I love mine but only use it as a music server and Spotify/Pandora streamer. Really performs well with the dac on my C2500 tube preamp.
BEC
Here is a good analysis of the current Mac Mini. I was about to replace my 2011 Mac Mini Server, but have decided not to buy another Mini. http://arstechnica.com/apple/2014/11/not-the-upgrade-we-were-hoping-for-the-2014-mac-mini-reviewed/
Marvel
I have a 2010 server version that I got from work with dead drives. It's too bad they quit building the quad core version, too.
Max2
I love mine for my listening room. Apple lossless isn't too bad, handles pictures great and is superb for surfing. I like the fact that I can sit on my couch with a blu tooth mouse and keyboard, surf the net, listen to tunes and have it all on a 55 inch screen since I'm almost blind and deaf.
