pgh
I need a replacement for my Forte woofers, and wanted to stay with Klipsch drivers. Will the K-28-E work in the Forte?
mwells
I would not think it would go as deep since it is used in the smaller, sealed Heresy III. I am surprised that there are no K-23-K woofers on ebay right now. There usually is. Perhaps another forum member has a spare that they will be willing to part with.

pgh
Are there any good diy recone kits? If possible, I would like to use the existing woofer basket. Those I've seen use the foam surround, which don't seem to hold up very well.
Bennosteve
I wanted to replace a K-25-K woofer that was toast in my Forte's, Klipsch said there is no re-cone kit available and to use a K-28-E. I did. It works - but - my two cabinets sound noticeably different when flipping back and forth with the balance control. I'm ordering the second K-28-E so that they will sound the same as each other.
jjptkd
I wonder if Klipsch parts would sell the new k-281 as a replacement that's the woofer in the new forte III
Bennosteve
I don't know if they (Klipsch) sell parts to the public, but I bought my Klipsch parts from The Listening Room in Saginaw, MI. listeningroom@ameritech.net 989-792-3816

Bennosteve
Klipsch told me that the K-28-E is their recommended replacement for the Forte-II.
