A bit weird; but, a bit cool

The only part that creeped me out were the words “HOURS LATER.”  I don’t know if i could have lasted,

SAN DIEGO (AP) — Jeanette and Alexander Toczko were each 8 years old when they became smitten with one another. They married in 1940 and were rarely apart in the decades since.

They told their children they wished to die in each other's arms. And last month at their home in San Diego, just days before their 75th wedding anniversary, that wish was fulfilled.

KGTV reports (http://bit.ly/1KpeUaq ) 95-year-old Alexander's health was failing rapidly after he broke his hip. His children put Jeanette in bed next to him.

According to their daughter, Aimee Toczko-Cushman, after Alexander died, Jeanette said, "Wait for me, I'll be there soon."

The family left her alone and just hours later, Jeanette died too.

The couple was buried Monday at Miramar National Cemetery.

I read that last night, I couldn't help but think of her laying there holding a dead body for hours, and she happened to die hours later after being left alone, was her death assisted in some way ?

Couldn't really blame her after 75 years and being that age but it sounds a little suspicious.

It's what they wanted so hopefully there is no one pushing an investigation, hope there happy.

There was a similar story to this on the Today show a few months ago. A couple were married a long time, the wife was ill, they were holding hands, she passed away, her heart monitor picked up his heart beat. He said he would see her again, he soon passed also. It was a story that was hard to keep a dry eye.

True, I love my wife and have been married for 37 years.........but I draw the line at dead.

Might change my mind in another 38 years who knows, I probably couldn't get up on my own by then anyway. :(

I look at my parents, Pops is 87, Mom 86 been together for 65 years, Pops is in the hospital again, Dr told Mom he's 87 years old and his body is starting to shut down....Hell we all have known this for the past 3 years but Mom has a hard time excepting it. So this leads me to quality of life...If I had the option to turn myself off I SIMPLY would..

Been single now at 63 for sometime and dating quite a few ladies of my generation.  Ladies whom are widowed are of a completely different complexion and character than divorcees.  There is a deep seeded component to longstanding and sincere relationships and when those end....... I swear parts of the surviving mates die too.  It takes them awhile to reestablish any semblance of composure, acceptance and seek new horizons.  Humans are social critters and need their better halves to be whole.  Just make wise choices.
