There is a line between politics and economic mechanisms. I'd have been better served to simply mention the period as the individuals were irrelevant. Price controls are to an economy what putting a tourniquet on is to controlling high blood pressure. Doesn't matter who does it, the result is the same. Sometimes it is useful, sometimes it is not. In nearly all cases, there are some winners and some losers. So, depends on which side of the stick you are holding.
