tube fanatic
We'll call it the Happy Amp Richard, I suspect that's what Jim will look like after he hears it for the first time on his Fortes!!! He may name it the "happy Jim amp!" Actually, my wife says it reminds her of Micky Mouse . Maynard
tube fanatic
I can't believe you and my wife said the same thing at the same time Carl...................
CECAA850
Hey JP, thanks a lot! Now immigration is on my case and I'm out of business!!! Sorry to disappoint you guys, but Jim isn't going to get the amp he posted about above. My wife decided that HE CAN'T HAVE IT (no one argues with her and wins- trust me on this) and enlisted the support of the guy selling it!!! However, he IS going to get this instead (what do you think of those ventilation holes Carl????? ) Maynard If that's for Jim, just put a chip amp inside it with some LED's inside the tubes to glow for show and he'll never know the difference. Take a picture of the guts of another amp you built and tell him it's his.

Jim
Carl, I think I would notice after awhile as I like to take the glass off my tubes and clean the insides of them so the plates have a nice shine on them, sorta like mirrors. Then I wash the glass so it has no smudges on them and put them back on. Makes them sound shiny and new all the time.

Jim
Ok Jim………………but how do you get the vacuum back in the tubes, hmmmmmm? with a very small straw, I put a small hole in the bottom with a rubber grommet and stick the straw in it and suck the air out. It takes awhile, but works pretty well.

Jim
Now I can get back to cleaning the insides of the tubes on the other amps. Maynard is a world class gentleman and to meet him in person was a gift in itself. Thank You again Maynard !!
tube fanatic
You're too kind Jim! Meeting up was lots of fun. I think we'd still be there if the women weren't getting cold (and hungry!). Enjoy...... Maynard
