Hey JP, thanks a lot!  Now immigration is on my case and I'm out of business!!!

Sorry to disappoint you guys, but Jim isn't going to get the amp he posted about above.  My wife decided that HE CAN'T HAVE IT (no one argues with her and wins- trust me on this) and enlisted the support of the guy selling it!!!  However, he IS going to get this instead (what do you think of those ventilation holes Carl????? :D)

If that's for Jim, just put a chip amp inside it with some LED's inside the tubes to glow for show and he'll never know the difference.  Take a picture of the guts of another amp you built and tell him it's his.

Carl,

I think I would notice after awhile as I like to take the glass off my tubes and clean the insides of them so the plates have a nice shine on them, sorta like mirrors. Then I wash the glass so it has no smudges on them and put them back on. Makes them sound shiny and new all the time.

Ok Jim………………but how do you get the vacuum back in the tubes, hmmmmmm?

with a very small straw, I put a small hole in the bottom with a rubber grommet and stick the straw in it and suck the air out. It takes awhile, but works pretty well.

Someone beat you to this relatively unknown means of achieving "perfect" sound:
