eth2
Hi, Ya'll (my attempt at Southern English) I just set up my VRD's after almost a year in the box. I do not remember what value to set them at. Can anyone tell me how hot they run them, and does choice of tubes make a difference? They are running through a NBS and connected to Khorns. Thanks
tblake10
I guess you mean bias setting. Craig told me to set mine at .55 VDC. Mine were bought in 2014.

NOSValves
Unless your amps are over 10 years old .55 volts DC is the correct bias setting. Early versions were .70 but most of them have been updated to the new bias settings which gives improved output tube life.

2Bmusic
why in the world would you have left them in a box for a year?
mark1101
Craig, Can you tell what the bias should be if you see a picture of the guts? Mine are 10 years old and I was told by a previous owner you updated them. I have been running .70 volts with no issues. Sound excellent. Man do they get hot though. I think the feet have melted onto my rack.

2Bmusic
As we say in Philly, "I got your straps right here." So you left them in the box because your strap was on back order?

jimjimbo
If you wear a tin foil hat like Earl, you won't need a strap, or a strap-on, for that matter.... Edited May 2, 2016 by jimjimbo
