Woofers and Tweeters
These are too cool. I've seen 3 or 4 out the 10 that were made. There is one in the Barber Museum and one was in a traveling Guggenheim Museum. This one did a few hot laps at a race in 2005.
Ceptorman
John Britten was a motorcycle genius. Shame he's gone. That museum is amazing. Did you notice that Eric Buell has started another motorcycle company? He must be a great salesman.

Ceptorman
Awesome photo James, what bike are you on? I was doing track days at Barber back then, not racing yet. Usually with Nesba or STT. My first race there was in 2009. Great place. Did you race at Rd Atlanta? I like that track's layout better than Barber, but Barber's facility is so much nicer. I believe Buell is using the same engine from his last SBK attempt.

Except for California, I raced every race and won a few in 05. Won Daytona in 06, came home and hung up my leathers. Work was pressuring me and I marked that off of my bucket list. Did you race Grattan? That was one of my favorite. Bus stop turn, decreasing radius turn, off camber turn, blind turn, jump/hump, drag strip straightaway, long track. You're right, Barber is TOTL. I want to go watch a few races this year. I hate to because (I hear that) it's like watching porn: I would start looking at a track bike so i could join in on the fun. Ceptorman
If you could put RA's track inside Barber's facility, that would be the ultimate. A win at Daytona is impressive, you must be an excellent racer, looks good on a resume. WERA has expanded quite a bit out west, especially California. I've done 2 track weekends and 2 races at Grattan. I really like that track, you're right, it has it all. The spring STT days there, they would run it normal on Saturday, and counter clockwise on Sunday. I actually liked CC better (I'm better at left turns than right) but the races were always regular. Mongo has said he would consider CC but has never done it that way. They finally updated their restroom facilities, and paved the place a few years ago. I've been to a couple InsyCar races at Barber. I could spend a whole weekend in their museum.

I can imagine CC would be better for some parts. It put you climbing rather than dropping off for the off camber turn, doesn't it? And gassing over the jump/hump would be better it seems. I had a hard time dialing that one in and about flipped a few times trying to slow down for the turn that follows it. How does it feel going wfo into the blind turn that drops off and curves at the end of the font straight? I know it's blind going the other way, but one is still gassing and up shifting going into the straight.

About the time you kind of figure it out, the day is over. A few guys ended up in the small pond.

Ceptorman
I do have some pics, they're buried in a HP computer in my closet After a Dell, HP, then a Toshiba laptops all bit the dust, I didn't want my PC to fry and take my irreplaceable photos with it. For the past 5 years I've had a MacBook Pro. It has worked flawlessly. I do need to fire up that old computer just to retrieve the photos. Most of the time when I fell down I got dirty. When you road racers fall down you get hurt, as in you could get killed, hurt. It scares me and just seems crazy to go that fast. I don't mind shooting 60 mph off a jump downhill, but to go 120 mph into a high speed sweeper at 13,000 RPM? I wouldn't even think about doing that. I'd finish last in every race. I'm being a bit tongue-in-cheek, but the reality is I have immense respect for road racers and the skill it takes to keep those bikes upright at speed in corners. Haha. Mucho respect. Even in pro cycling doing 35-50 downhill in a pack was nerve racking. Your literally inches from the guys pedal next to you and you pray nobody farts and screws up the rhythm in the pack. Like sitting at a poker table. You just KNOW if your out of your league sitting anchor or your in the right pack. Even though I was good there were times everyone else was excellent. These guys at IOM are that. Wow, just amazing freaks.(In a good way)

Ceptorman
Pretty tame accident for that place. That almost turned into a high side. The concentration and nerve to race that place amazes me.
