Jriver on Windows 10....

I've tried Jriver in the past, I think v.19 (?).....on Windows Vista, 8 and maybe 8.1. Can't remember exactly.

I want to use it strickly for two-channel channel playback and in particular I'm wanting to hear what difference....if any....Wasapi would make.

So I installed the free trial yesterday, did everything I could to make sure it was in wasapi mode and really couldn't hear much of an improvement.

Last night I did a full scan on my computer and it detected 4 issues that Norton said it cleared up.

So today I wanted to get to the bottom of the wasapi thing. Fired everything up and the computer would not recognize my hdmi output device. So the only sound I could get was through the laptop speakers. After no luck investigating the sounds menu in the control panel, I uninstalled Jriver, did a restart and now everything is fine.

So my question......is the wasapi thing through Jriver/Win.10 worth the hassle? Is Jriver known to be buggy? It was when I had it a couple/few years ago.

I'm probably doing something wrong but a little insight would be helpful. Thanks. [emoji106]

I reinstalled MC22 last night and so far today it's working well. Sound quality vs WMP is somewhat better to my ears but not night and day. I'll do the 30 day trial and see....

Reading online did stir up some negative comments about the relationship between MC22 and Windows 10. I'm not interested in videos, etc. through Jriver.....just being able to shuffle my library and different playlists.

I had little luck with the last few versions of jriver... nothing to write home about. Indeed, I still have not been successful in integrating a computer to playback. It seems compressed and flat even though it has good resolution and liquidity.
