phillmartin
Recently upgraded to a Marantz 5010. Which also resulted in taking it out of my entertainment stand and adding some cooling fans. My issue is that they are usb powered and the 5010's usb power is always on. Any thoughts on how to get them to switch on/off with the unit? Am I missing anything? jason str
Heat naturally rises, just make sure the top and bottom of the unit is not blocked off from airflow and you won't have a need for fans. The exception is a factory installed fan, same rules just make sure there is airflow around vents and fan unit.
CECAA850
I use 12v fans with a wall wart plugged into a switched receptacle of my pre/pro. Works great.
CECAA850
Get something like THIS and plug it into your switched receptacle of your receiver.
CECAA850
I just looked. It seems your receiver doesn't have a switched receptacle. You'll need a way to go from your 12v switched outlet to turn on a 120v power strip and then the converter I showed above.
CECAA850
Or, you could buy a smart strip. When you turn your AVR on it powers up the rest of the strip which is where you plug your USB power converter in. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000P1QJXQ

phillmartin
Unfortunately, my question might be moot. Was watching a show this morning and then heard a pop/thud and the thing shut off. Hoping it is just a short somewhere in my wiring, but I'm not too hopeful about that.Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

phillmartin
It turns back on, so it's not a total failure somewhere. Hopefully a full reboot with reassessing the wiring should give me more direction. :'(Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

Works great Mark
