KG 3.5 vs. KG 4

Recommended Posts

I thinking about doing a Bob Crites tweeter and crossover upgrade to my KG 3.5 speakers ( actually these are KM 4s, the military version of the Kg 3.5). For another $70, I could step up and buy a pair of used KG 4's, with both the tweeter and crossover upgrade already done by Bob Crites.

I realize neither of these are great speakers, but ought to be fine for home theater.

Would you recommend spending the extra $?? If I could sell the KG 3.5s for $100, I'd more than breakeven.

Thanks in advance for any advice

I have both, and I think they're both great! Even better with Crites Ti. I recapped mine also, with Jantzen poly caps and Dayton house brand electrolytic caps from Parts Express. I'd definitely check out the KG4s if the price isn't much different, however.

Yes, for that kind of money I'd think it would be a good move, Crites crossovers alone are $200 or more. KG4's are nice little speakers.

Jump on the KG 4s. I've owned both and I preferred the sound of the 4s over the 3.5s. They look better too.

Thanks to all, The KG 4s are dramatically better than the KG 3.5s. Special appreciation to Mark for making it happen!
