Fun stuff. Agreed. Sounds like you know you stuff. 👍

Sounds like you know you stuff. 👍 Over the years I've always tried new things, and a lot of it with spraying has been trial and error, as I had never used any type of spray gun in the past, but I picked up the unit at a great price (used) and figured if I sucked at it or didn't like it, I could sell it, but turned out to be one more tool in the shop that I made room for.
Heritage_Head
Wasn't there another guy on here who had 904s with a different horn painted red? Or was it another color? Those looked great If I'm remembering correctly...

Yea a gun would be nice. These last two projects would have been easier with it. Especially doing La Scalas. Big jump from kitchen cabinets lol. A lot of real-estate. Heritage_Head
Getting in those bins. Would have been much easier before they were put together
Pete H
The unit I picked up was a 1600 unit that I bought for 300 and it had an extra gun and about 10 different tips and looked like it had been used a handful of times. Craigslist, they're around and you will use it.

Ahhhhh soooo many first world problems I have deal to with 🙄.

richieb
=== and I still believe the best, most reversible method to finish off a big horn is with automotive wrap. I plan on doing just that this summer with my 402’s.

Sold ‘em, and was tempered on buying them back but passed. They sounded great and the big horn was the secret sauce. Damn, I can’t recall the brand, not EV. A big commercial player for the right coast.

I have a buddy in my car club that did a 196- Mustang custom fastback in sort of a semi-flat army type green (not camo) that shows a bit of metallic. Looks killer on the car and with black bins would be very nice. That and Ford Grabber Blue have my attention.
richieb
=== and don’t forget with the size of the 402 needs a color that won’t completely overload a room. The Frank orange would be too much and I’m an orange guy. Even Grabber Blue might be at the extreme color pallet. Luckily I’m friends with PDR/wrap/film specialists and peeling off one for another is a non issue -

Pete H
One of these days, when I'm settled on a final configuration, it's all copper and black for me. I've been a freak with orange and coppers for decades, started with my chevelle and even most of my golf club heads are orange.
