jcmusic
I am looking for a nice sound set of headphones that I can plug into my tape decks and listen, time I want to listen and not bother the wife watching tv. My budget is $200-$300.
Khornukopia
Klipsch has some good earbud style headphones. If you are wanting over the ear style, I like my AKG K-240.

They are the industry standard, still going strong!

I can't even count the photographs in the back of albums and CD blurb sheets I have seen with musicians of all types wearing those things to monitor their sound in the recording studio! Hundreds for sure.
Khornukopia
The one thing that might wear out on the old AKG is the rubber tension bands. I have replaced those with some black fabric covered rubber bands, the type used by folks who pull their long hair back into a tail or braid.
