LaurentG
Hi, This will go on sale at estate sale this week end. I am interested but I'd like to advice as I never owned a khorn. I currently have a line array but it's lacking in liveliness. Anyway, the speakers seem in good conditions and will definitely go into corners. But what are the extra horns on top for? Would they be needed? I have no idea of the crossover in these. Thanks for any comment and help. Edited October 20, 2020 by LaurentG
wuzzzer
They look to be what's referred to as the 'top hat' of a Klipsch LaScala pro model. They would need the lower bass bin to be a complete speaker. If you get everything you could easily part out the top hats.
codewritinfool
Without seeing the backs of the Klipschorns, it isn’t clear what you have there. See if you can get better photos of all angles and maybe serial numbers too.
Ceptorman
Those Khorns appear to be in great shape, they're sitting on risers. Maybe the tophats are extras.
The Dude
One thing to clarify, there appear to be 2 different sets of top hats. The ones attached to Klipschorns, these have the grill material. The ones that are sitting on top of the Klipsch horns, which are black with the white Klipsch emblem. This is all based on the assumption that the Klipschorns are complete. If so, then yes you would have an extra set of mid horns and tweeters that could be sold off. As mentioned, pictures of the back would help verify this. I would also believe that if the Khorns are fully intact, you would also have the crossovers as well. Good luck and hope you score these.
