Mighty Favog
No, not talking about my mental state. 🤣  A couple of years ago I snagged this Pioneer PD-F907 cd changer off CL for $12 working perfectly. At the time I never really noticed, but the led display is kinda dim. I looked in the manual to see if there was a setting but it said nothing about it.  So, before I tear into this thing, is it something obvious that I'm missing?? Shiva
Does the remote control have a button on it, that might say dimmer or something similar that might adjust the display brightness? I know their A/V receivers do, to give you the option to dim the display or turn it off entirely.
Mighty Favog
Nope, nothin' on the remote. 🤔 I know that HI-LITE button plays the first few seconds of each track.
Shiva
I found an crappy online manual and also perused it. Â Didn't see anything about a dimmable display either. Â Bummer.
wetowne
Take a look at the manual:  https://www.manualslib.com/manual/130082/Pioneer-Pd-F907.html  Nevermind.

wetowne
Are those led's or fluorescent? If it's florescent it's probably a bad cap in the power supply.
Mighty Favog
They may very well be flourescent. I have a hard time telling them apart.

Mighty Favog
O.K., the display demo has the same brightness. But I'll leave it on for a while to see what happens. The thing was made in Oct. 98'.
