In my system, very close to yours since I have the MA9500, the best sounding outputs are the 4. Not only the bass control is much better but everything is better. I believe your MA8950 is a great amp for the CW4. The right positioning could not be so easy, I spent a lot of time to get the best.

No dealer here, but there is in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Omaha, Kansas City and Minneapolis. So yeah, I'll try to make it to one of the places. Dealer in Lincoln, NE also. DTX Digital Theater Experts. Heritage dealer. They have Cornwall IVs and others on display to demo. B&W, McIntosh, Sonus Faber dealer too. Bought a few McIntosh pieces from them. Great guys.

I was using the internal DAC of the 8950, while trying to get the sound I wanted, I tried a Black Ice DAC with $400 dollar NOS tubes, that did the trick. Well that and better positioning. Now the CW4s are VERY ENJOYABLE for me.

The only Klipsch dealer I'm aware of in the state is Hawkeye Audio. I bought mine from their Cedar Falls store, but they also are in Iowa City. Worth the pilgrimage. And, you're welcome to come listen to my Fortes some time. Likewise, you are welcome to listen to my CW4s as well.
