ToddT Posted February 22 Share Posted February 22 So I now have a chance to buy some Heresy IIIs for $800. But they are not consecutive serial numbers. What do you think? Is that a big issue? I could also buy some Heresy I-E that do have consecutive serial numbers for $650. And I could buy some Heresy IIs that do have consecutive serial numbers for $750. Which would you go with and why? I was originally set on 1s because I wanted to go full vintage / analog / tube amp setup. But I hear the 3s are much better… would they fit that style of sound as well as the 1s? Thanks!! wuzzzer Posted February 22 Share Posted February 22 I had, at the exact same time, a pair of original Heresy, IIs and IIIs. Did lots of listening to all three pairs. Even my wife commented that the IIIs didn’t sound anywhere as good as the original or IIs. Thus, I have a 5 original Heresy surround setup. Condition of the wood and grills have a lot to do with what they would be worth, to me. What flavor are they? Might be a little high on the H1, H3 sounds like the best price IF they all were in the same condition. ( I have never owned the H3, but I have had several H1 and H2. Pictures? geezin' Posted February 23 Share Posted February 23 I don't have loads of experience but I know what I like. My Heresy 1. It's taken some time to get them where I really enjoy them. However I liked them from the beginning. If you listen to music containing big thumping bass you'll need a powered sub. I use a Klipsch KG SW passive sub with mine and it can make things shake when twisting the volume knob...with an astounding 27 WPC.
