peterbwreal
I just stumbled across a set of 1986 Belle Klipsch in oak with black cloth, one small chip in the wood and small water stains on one cabinet. I'm interested because they are only 20 miles away, thus no shipping. What are they worth? Thanks - Peter
prodj101
I think they're around 4500 new. how much is the guy askin? if it were under 1,000 I'd take them any day.
jt1stcav
Agreed, even with the small chip and water stain (can be patched up and/or refinished). If the innards aren't butchered up or defunkt, then go for it!
Vavoline
There was an auction for OO Belles on ebay which ended Jan 27th, and they went for $2001. If you want Oiled Oak Belles, and you can get them for under $2000, assuming good condition, you had better jump on those babies like a chicken on a June bug! Oak belles are hard to find, as the most common finish for Belles was Oiled Walnut. With no shipping, and the chance to inspect / audition before buying, it sounds like a rare opportunity. Good luck! Vavoline
dndphishin...I know this has to hurt! Keep searching, bud, 'cause this just goes to show you never can tell when opportunity may come a knockin'.
Audible Nectar
Story of my month. Right speakers, wrong location. At least this month I got the Klipsch banner though....
IndyKlipschFan
PeterBwReal.... Well anything is only "worth" what someone is willing to let it go for, and what someone else is willing to pay. Much like an antique. That said.. Depending on the obvious... IE Does it work, does it look ok to you... etc., etc. I would say for a set of Belles..looking at Ebay, audiogon, yahoo and my local papers.. Low side 1200 to as high as you want that is reasonable... 3400? If you look on Ebay, most go for 1800- 2800 range. Hope this helps. If you choose NOT to buy them, please be kind enough to pass the info on to this board. A lot of people are looking for them too.
Frzninvt
Just to update you guys, a new set of Belle's used to be about $4,500 now they are more like $6,000 or more depending on finish type and K-horns are running $7,500.
