MBM135
This is from Response Audio's website. They claim it is good cable for tube gear--recommended for Jolida amps, which of course they sell. Fairly affordable. too. 1m length is $80. Marketing hype aside, is anybody using this? Is it decent? http://www.responseaudio.com/clarity1.htm MM
dbflash
MM, Never heard of them. If you can solder you might want to look at DIY Cables. The Superlatives are a IC that I am using with tubes. They are less than $70.00 delivered to your house. It took a couple hours to build. I am using them between my preamp and amp. Danny
Triode Pete
Yeah, the DIY Superlatives is a very nice cable, especially for horns & tubes. Noticed a wider soundstage, less in your face sound (I was using silver IC's before). Overall, more musical. Can't beat them for the price. Look very cool too! MBM135
Are these failrly easy to build? I have an old soldering iron but haven't soldered in many years. Do these come with great instructions, etc? Thanks, Mike
Deang
I don't have any experience with silver plated copper interconnects & Heritage speakers. The Superlative seems to be liked by many. It has a huge following. You can buy the kits here: http://www.diycable.com Instructions provided, and getting them together shouldn't be too bad. If you don't feel like dealing with it, the Cardas 300b Microtwin is very nice for less than $100 a pair. Litz magnet wire with cotton and teflon dielectric. The RCA's are low mass, and silver/rhodium plated. At half the money is the Monster 550i. It meets all the criteria of a good cable and lets the system sound great. Good cables are important, but don't get lost in cable hell.

Deang
"Every NBS cable employs the circuitry of a Passive Frequency Inductance Network (PFIN) combined with hand-made construction and unconventional use of silver shielding. The higher the line of NBS cable, the more sophisticated the PFIN circuitry becomes. Unique wire-weave patterns and the use of the finest materials available contribute further to the world-renowned NBS Sound." "The RCA connectors employed on the SIGNATURE-II through STATEMENT lines are the exclusive design of Walter Fields. These connectors are manufactured of gold-plated beryllium copper for greater conductance and a specially plated chromium barrel to reject RFI and EMI. The combined result puts the NBS philosophy into practice by achieving a dramatically lowered noise floor, maximal dynamic range, and the ultimate in information retrieval. The quality craftsmanship of NBS cables allows us to extend a life-time warranty to the original owner." All together now: BULLSH!T
