HDBRbuilder
Fini, I hope you dont have much investment over the, presumably refundable, purchase price into it!
fini
Nope, just the $35, and some elbow grease (maybe I forgot to wipe some of that off the transformers?). fini
HDBRbuilder
Fini, Just like anything, ya never know what you have until you get it home and give it a try. Did you remove the bottom plate from underneath the receiver and check that area and its fuses out? Just wondered!
Bill H.
http://www.oaktreeent.com/web_photos/Stereo_Receivers/Harmon-Kardon_430_Stereo_Reciever_web.jpg Found this and thought if anyone was interested.......kind of pricey though.
Parrot
wm, $189 for that receiver, in the ad you found, is WAY too much. You can get one on eBay as low as $30. You could easily get 3 or 4 of these receivers for $189.
Bill H.
HDBR, When I get my HK 430, I will currently be using only the SB-3's (which I love). If I was going to upgrade for speakers, what would you recommend? My living room is only 12 x 20. I have been looking at either the RB3II'S or the RF5...... bill Paul -thanks
HDBRbuilder
Bill, I prefer the "heritage sound"...as for a particular model...it all depends on how small a footprint is wanted by the purchaser...and the largest speaker size and size of expenditure the buyer is able to handle! Bill H.
HDBR, OK, inform me- I will probably buy used, with a budget of no more than 400.00. I like the size of the sb 3's on stands. They sit on each side of my wall unit. The size of the Hersey II seem good to me. The belle's and la Scalle's are to big (over sized ) for my room. ?????? HDBRbuilder
You could get a pair of heresys for that 400 bucks(including the shipping costs)...maybe even a pair of Chorus' or Fortes if you are a careful shopper! If you are nearby a metro area that has had a high-end dealer of Klipsch for a long time...there are often great bargains to be had in newspaper ads....even the possibility of a pair of Cornwalls in your price range! Who knows?
