AndyKubicki
I've been looking on eBay, but why not check here first? I'm looking for a cheap intergrated amp for my son under $100.00....I was looking at the vintage lower powered Marantz. Anyone here got anything like that (or comparable)? NOSValves
How about a Scott R 337 ?? I have one I guess I could sell. Have fun finding info on it ! Its in nice shape and sounds pretty darn good but I would have to fire it back up its been at least 8 months since I used it. Craig

AndyKubicki
Ooops, never mind. Just won http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3032047674&category=3280&rd=1 . This is for son #2 BTW. He's almost 16 and excited about getting his first decent amp. Now he'll be bugging my for my KG4s, or worse yet, my KHorns! Son #1 is happy with his HK and SF-2 combination...we're a Klipsch family .
Geo1
I think it's against Child Protective Services rules and regulations to trade ANY child, son or daughter, for a cheap amp. On the other hand, I think it's just fine if you can get an expensive amp for the kid since any reasonable person recognizes the relative values of an expensive amp versus a kid. garymd
Great deal on the amp Andy. I guarantee it will sound better than most of the newer SS models. They really don't build 2-channel SS like they used to (with few exceptions).
Marvel
You don't want to trade your kids. Keeping them is the only real way to get even. Andy, I finally fixed the power on light on an old JVC amp I have had for 30+ years. The original lamp was an incandescent, so I figured out how to put an led in it. Now my number two son can tell he hasn't turned it off. Pretty easy to fix. This SS amp has a 6.3 volt secondary on the PT. Very interesting. The light was the only thing on there. I just added a current limiting resistor and the led. That Marantz looks very clean. Marvel

After the 70s I couldn't say. I owned a few and still own a mint KR-9600 which would probably go for $500 or so. They have a following.
