I think this is as much as anyone can tell about "where they are from". There is not any territoriality to it that I know of. OTOH, Wrigley Field (Cubs) is on the north side; Comisky Park (White Sox) is on the south side. Generally residents of the north and south sides of Chicago generally follow the local team. As you move away from the stadiums and into the cornfields, loyalties get mixed. (Eventually you get to St. Louis or Milwaukee, of course.)
