Actually, I think it sums things up pretty well... :-) In religous philosophy, there's a concept called "Pascal's wager". Mathematician/philosopher Blaise Pascal said, in effect, that one might as well believe in God and an afterlife, because if it's false, one's not out anything for having held that belief and, if it's true, then it's all up side. Obviously I'm paraphrasing :-) postscript. Just did a quick Google search on "Pascal's Wager"... there's plenty of stuff out there. I'll leave it at that.
