Marvel
If you had purchased $1000.00 of Nortel stock two years ago, it would now be worth $49.00. With Enron, you would have $16.50 left of the original $1,000.00. With WorldCom, you would have less than $5.00 left. But, if you had purchased $1,000.00 worth of Beer one year ago, had drunk all the beer, and then turned in the cans for the aluminum recycling price, you would have $214.00. Based on the above information, the best current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle. It's called the 401-Keg Plan.
Hard 21
That's great. Except that means, for me, there would be a lot of Saturdays and Sundays where I'd really be draggin' ***. But I bet I'd have had a hell of a time the nights before!
Marvel
Agreed. After I sent this to a friend of mine, he sent this back: Yes but if you had purchased 50 shares of Pfizer, you'd really be frustrated since the stock has a bad habit of constanting going up and down, up and down, up and down. Audible Nectar
Sounds good to me! It's very similar to the advice given to Flounder by Bluto in "Animal House": "My advice is to start drinking - heavily." It's nice to see that what we learned in college still has some validity. BackBurner
Well if you would have gotten in and out of BRE-X at the right time you'd be a multi-millionare. I on the other hand put in $5000.00 and jumped out at $18000.00 if i would have held out till near the end i would have had a " GOD DAM SH!TLOAD OF CASH " !!!!!!!!!! fini
Marvel, I've heard that one before. I never got the math to work, though. I thought aluminum cans were worth $.015 each (around here). It takes over 14 thousand cans at that rate to get up to $214. Where can I buy 14,000 cans of beer for $1000? (Actually, the question is: Where can you buy 14,000 cans of beer for $786, because you have to pay the CRV when you buy the beer.) Maybe I need to pop a cold one to have it make sense (my solution to everything...)
Marvel
You expected me to do the MATH to see if it was real! Oops! My wife had it sent to her, and I blindly passed it on. I think cns are about $.025 each around here. At least the last time I checked. Still, that's over 8000 cans of beer. Makes my kidneys hurt just to think about that. Thanks for holding me accountable fini. Marvel
