robertl
Hiya, what's a good choice for a integrated tube amp for my Forte' 1's fo under $750? It will be used with a tuner and CD only. Many thanks for all help. Cheers, Robert

Guy Landau
BTW, Neo. Did anyone receive this Eico of yours?
busterfree
If you decide to go with vintage equipment, a rebuilt Scott 299 series would be a great choice... I have a rebuilt 299A that was rebuilt by NOSValves some time ago that I am willing to sell for $550 (including shipping). I use it with my Forte. robertl
Thanks guys,I love this forum. So very helpful!!! I decided to go with a Cayin TA-30 from Bizzy Bee. I already have a Bizzy Bee Fisher 400X in our music room for vinyl and the TA-30 will go in our den for radio and CD/DVD. The TA-30 was cost effective for me because the very first Fisher 500-C I bought a while back was not restored properly,my very first experience in buying vintage tube gear, and I sent it to Paul to be properly restored, since he is the Fisher dude,(dude, damn I love the "Big Labowsky" movie!!!) anyway that Fisher 500-C was a trade in towards the Cayin TA-30. I thought I would have the 500-c restored properly and then sell it and then buy a Scott 299?,but my den marantz receiver died this weekso I couldn't wait, gotta have tunes in the den, dude. FYI,the Fisher 400-X is with Forte' 1's and the Cayin TA-30 will go with Forte 1's too. Thanks for all help and advice. Number 9
Some impressions of the Cayin vs. the 400X would really be appreciated.
InventiveAudio.com
Hi, I recetly sold a Spark/Cayin amp and thought it sounded muffled compared to my Sherbourn SS amp. I also A/B a Scott 299 against the Sherbourn and neither me or my friend could pick out the tube amp from my SS amp. Good luck!
aviserated
You would be more happy with MOS-FET Solid State.I love my B&K pre and power amp. Tubes will not give you that dynamic sound the Fortes are capable of.
