3dzapper
These teak and cane Khorns in San Diego are the cats meow IMHO. Make it a weekend trip with SWMBO and make her happy at the same time: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=61378&item=5723752735&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW Rick
ShapeShifter
Those appear ok, but not enough photos and no serial number info. Anyone here had any experience with Door to Door Auctions as seller and shipment arranger?
D-MAN
Well, I'd personally pass the first pair at the price. The second San Diego pair shown above is MUCH nicer (a model "B" to boot!). Who cares about the serial numbers if they are in good shape and work? Teak is also quite rare. Model "B"'s look better, are more in demand, and sell easier, too. LarryC
i dont really like this look (without that notch between the bassbin and tweets)... Those have been played around with -- the top grill doesn't extend around the corners like it should, and the big strip from top to bottom on each side of the front, which projects out to the front, isn't original. If you do find a "B" style with the insert, there will also be a kick strip along the bottom of the front basshorn panel, which these don't have. You'll see all these differences in the pic that 3D posted above. Larry

Tom Mobley
serial number means Klipschorn-Decorator-Fir Black. These really were theatre models. All that veneer or whatever is was added later. Sounds the same though.

Daddy Dee
My take is that the reveneered pair are expensive to have to live with the non stock appearance, even though the work looks nice. The teak and cane pair look good and are priced within reason. While I think the transaction COULD be completed satisfactorily, Door to Door Auctions doesn't inspire confidence with their auction descriptions, which to their credit has been improved on this listing. A week or more ago they had a pair of Heresy's listed for $2K, probably due to unfamiliarity with audio and consignment type arrangement. The first time I looked at the current listing it had a pic of the Heresy label in the Khorn description. Very nice pair of Khorns here. That is one VERY nice looking pair of Khorns.
