iXtreme
I have a fine set up of Klip multimedia and I finally found a bass passage(s) that these things choke on. If you want to hear the stuff I am talking about, try out the cd called "audio" by "the blue man group". Heard em' a few days ago at the Luxor in Vegas and had to get the CD to try out back here at home. My HT really plays the passages well but my poor lil' multimedia dual sub don't like it too much . Amazing talent and what a show it was. Randy Bey
bleh! Blue Man group. Rhythms pounded out on PVC pipes. Wonder why they sound so... dull?... plastic?
M6 Driver
I've got both the CD and 5.1 DVD it's quite steller pick up the 5.1 disc it's in both DD&DTS so you've got the best of both worlds. Track 5 titled UTNE has very good LFE make sure everythings secure on the walls since I have no sub yet my 30's managed to rattle some objects of my selfs thus I took off to Sound Advice and ran it through a McIntosh set up, quite spectacular! So give it chance. Saw Luxor's Blue Man first of the year quite trippy! ------------------ Thanks J KLF 30 Mains C7 Center 8.5 rears Yamaha RX-V995 Toshiba SD-1600 DVD Pioneer CLD-S201 LD Pioneer PD-M53 CD Sony 32 inch TV no subs till house built
Tom Adams
I've caught a few minutes of the Blue Man Group and while I thought their show was kinda cool, I personally didn't find them all that talented - technically speaking. I mean, their instruments are amplified and therefore the bass extension is easily enhanced. If you're looking for not only entertainment, but true musicianship, try to see Blast. Their show grew outta drum & bugle corps competition and is principaly the Star of Indiana corps. It is one amazing show combining various elements of dance, drum corps, and brass. The deep bass you hear is from big honkin' (tuned, I might add) drums, not some synthesized 12" drum head. Marvel
I've listened to the BMG and have found the music to be very techno, so it doesn't appeal to some. My son brought a CD back from a Chicago performance (there is more than one group), and they used tuned pipes. Even if they are pvc, they sound good. THey also used a drum with about a six foot drum head on it. Real Drum and Bugle Corps music is great too. Bruce
iXtreme
I must admit however, the show was more than the sum of it's music. Although the wall of drums and the large 10FT. drum head was amazing. The air poles have a sonic whisper I just love. This is a talented group in my opinion for reasons being that they make ordinary plastic my beautiful melodies.... and they design the stuff too. Even their "guitars" if you want to call their string instruments that are played with sticks. Who knew closed cell foam rubber and pvc could sound so good. ------------------ System specs: Technics SADX940 DD/DTS Technics SLDP8 CD Changer Technics RS TR373 Deck CV E708's FRONT & REAR CV E76C CENTER CV HT10 SUB MONSTERCABLE CONNECTS & PINS RCA 27" & HIFI VCR & DVD DIGITAL DTS DTV SATT. VegasShawn
Yeah, you gotta get the DVD version of the music. I haven't heard the CD, but the DVD in DTS is pretty amazing.
