Tubes Horns and Buds
How about a pair of KHorns and a pair of La Scalas. What do you think? I am going to measure the interior now....
garymd
Not at the same time. My Sienna had no problem with the Khorns but there's no way you'd come close to a pair of Lascalas also, even with the longer body of the T&C. They'd look pretty cool strapped to the roof though. Tubes Horns and Buds
Dam, not what i wanted to hear. I need to pull off one trip to get both or the La Scalas are a no go. A guy answered a WTB add that I had on Audiogon that I forgot cancel. $750 for BR nicely finished in a dark stain w/ off white grills. I am sending a deposit tomorrow to hold them until May 15. If I can't pull it off, does anyone want a 1983, one-owner pair of La Scalas. Ft. Wayne, Indiana I was thinking of emailing MagicSky to see if he wanted them. You know, I want them to go to someone who appreciates heritage speakers.

I cannot imagine they would be all that much.
garymd
If you unbolt the 2 front seats and squeeze inside one of the Lascalas, you might be able to pull it off. Lascalas probably take up more room then Khorns! You need a trailer dude.
Tubes Horns and Buds
That is a good point, but this trip is already crazy enough without the insane gas prices. I need to the math and see if its worth it. I'm going 3.5 hours one way for the KHorns regardless, what's another 6? This is where you talk me into it, lol. Olorin
The trailer rental could easily be less than the gas for the second trip. I think you can easily rationalize . . . oh, I meant to say JUSTIFY the trailer rental.
michael hurd
Either rent a U-haul ( or Y'all haul depending on where you are from ) trailer, or a full size van. I am sure that the amount of time saved, and the amount of gas saved ( on a second trip ) would negate the rental price.
Tubes Horns and Buds
I think you just nailed it with renting a full sized van. I just don't trust myself or anyone else on the road to make a trip that long with a trailer on the back. Thanks.
colterphoto1
I'd be interested in the LS if you decide against getting them. btw, I did a similar trip to get my 63 Cornwalls. Flew into Miami, rented van and drove home 1300 miles. Also picked up a pair of Chorus that a fellow member had purchased and his Uncle was holding for him in Orlando. INSANE trip. I figure with all the travel expenses, it added $300 to the cost of my Cornwalls, not counting anything for my time. Gas prices are insane, calculate carefully. efzauner
I would go for the LaScalas. You do not have any corners in the van for Khorns. With 104db/w efficience the LaScalas would sound great in the van. You dont even need to add an external power amp. Just connect them to the existing rear speaker wires and you should do fine. If you like lots of hip-hop and house, though you may want a subwoofer. Make sure the speakers are properly tied down in case you have an accident. You dont want to get hit in the head with a 2x2x3ft box. Have fun!

jacksonbart
Wait if you get a trailer that mean you could pile in at least 6 screaming kids in the the Town and Country for the voyage. That would help offset the concern over the increaded gas milage.

Thumpelstiltskin
You could put the lascalas on the roof, play some music through them and sell ice cream all the way home to recoup your travel expenses. Rick.
