rockbobmel
I've been obsessing about this for a while, and there is one about 100 mi. away. All leather, Dark Green with 2 reclining ends. My GF has a leather couch and it is great to kick back in and listen to tunes with. Her room is a great sounding living room, and she has a modest Arcam setup with Acoustic Energy speakers, that sounds incredible!!. I kinda feel that the couch somehow improves the room sound. I'm prolly just mental.....and imagining that part. Anyway, it is time to rotate the futon down to my daughter's apartment.

Speedball
We have had our leather couch for a couple years now and it is great. Once in a while I wipe it down with a damp cloth and then twice a year or so use a high quality leather conditioner/cleaner. Makes it look like new again. rplace
Better give a listen to Cake's "Italian Leather Sofa" to celebrate She doesn't care whether or not he's an island She doesn't care just as long as his ship's coming in She doesn't care whether or not he's an island They laugh they make money He's got a gold watch She's got a silk dress and healthy breasts that bounce on his Italian leather sofa. She doesn't care whether or not he's a good man She doesn't care just as long as she still has her friends She doesn't care whether or not he's an island they laugh, they make money He's got a gold watch She's got a silk dress and healthy breasts That bounce on his Italian leather sofa She's got a serrated edge that she moves back and forth It's such a simple machine she doesn't have to use force When she gets what she wants, she puts the rest on a tray in a ziplock bag ...in the freezer She doesn't care whether or not he's an island She doesn't care just as long as his ship's coming in She doesn't care whether or not he's an island They laugh, they make money He's got a gold watch She's got a silk dress and healthy breasts that bounce on his Italian leather sofa
D-MAN
My leather couch (also with reclining ends) is pretty acoustically reflective rather than absorbtive. The MAIN drawback is that IT WEIGHS MORE than a hide-away SOFA BED! I can only say "have it delivered" - just wait until you have to move it! lunch
A leather couch can actually give you unwanted resonance because of its reflective surface. Of course, you shouldn't let that stop you.

Me and a 120 lb man lugged it up to my 3rd story apt. I can't seem to download pics

thxsubwoofers
I have positives and negatives about Leather Couches. The positives are, they are soft on your butt. In my opinion the negatives are, they act like heaters.

dragonfyr
I have to agree with the last few posts! I too bought into the look, smell, and all of the other wonderful sensory aspects of an espensive top of the line leather couch and chair. And the sales pitch is that they breath and acclimate to temperature and...blah, blah, blah! Heck, I doubt that Monster's marketing division could have developed a more insidious marketing campaign! Bottom line is that they are remarkably akin to sitting on a really nice looking and smelling couch with plastic seat covers! They are hot and you sweat![]And if you want a really neat surprise, fall asleep while on lieing on one and experience the wonder of waking up a few hours later! ...with the uncanny sensation of drowning![]But darn, they certainly DO look and smell nice! And they make great furniture for unsuspecting guests to sit on![]Enjoy![]
