damonrpayne
OK, I realize I may be pushing the forum limits here, but this is a legitimate question, I asked a friend with a film degree and he had no idea. In movies today you will see a lot of otherwise "normal" (ie not adult film) actors engaging in what Hollywood calls "simulated sex" on screen. Basic Instintc, etc. Many of the camera angles and such appear to leave "little room for error", by which I mean if they are not in fact doing they deed they are awefully close. Is there a standard Hollywood protocol for how we get actors through what must be some pretty uncomfortable filming? Are the men wearing cups? Adult film body doubles used? Various things "taped down" etc. Do the actors get together before time and practice? Inquring minds want to know. Any web links or anecdotes appreciated. If this is inappropriate I apologize but the forum is such a wealth of knowledge for so many things...
Frzninvt
Very Carefully, and sometimes with stand in's. To keep Mr. Wiggly at bay just picture Margaret Thatcher naked on a cold day, that should do it!
RichardP
Sure, we can have an academic discussion of these movies (yeah, right). When I had the "Skinemax" movie channel, I occasionally glimpsed various "tapedowns" or adhesive patches over male and/or female genitalia that were not intended to be seen on camera. I think I also heard somewhere (a softcore porn actress on Howard Stern, or some such source) that these patches/barriers are requested by some actors/actresses for actual protection against STDs. I used to laugh at many of those soft-core movies for how absurd some of the sex positions were. Nobody with normal equipment could possibly be engaged in actual intercourse in some of those positions. There are probably sets of standard camera angles used for specific positions that allow obscuring of actual naughty parts. There is an informational website, www.rame.net (or .com) which has a lot of FAQs on the porn industry, and may address your question in some form. I am not an expert on these movies, just my limited observations. Any bets on how long this thread lasts before being pulled?
damonrpayne
So far I think we're behaving! I agree with you as far as Skinomax, but in a lot of films there are a lot of legitimate positions where it looks to me as though it must be very tricky indeed to NOT be doing anything. colterphoto1
Was looking at the Dead Porn Star site listed above. How's this for a crazy stage name ' Fabio Scorpion'?
Steve_L
Too funny! I hope you haven't lost too much sleep worrying about this. ...but I do hear they sound much better through Klipsch speakers!
jacksonbart
You mean they are not actually doing it?[] I think its either skin colored tape or very tight tights. Any one ever see 'Name of the Rose' (1986)? Whow that was as close to the real thing with out doing the real thing as its gets. [:$]
Colin
<?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Hollywood has many devices for limiting exposure of genitals during movies. The skimpy patches are one, but by and large, many of the actors are basically nude and many of the scenes require take after take: more work than play. A closed set for a nude scene can mean as many as 40 people behind, around and in front of the shot![]
thxsubwoofers
Hahaha!... For some reason I was watching the TV on how they film it.
