Griffinator
Before the game ended, ESPN ran a teaser for Sportcenter saying that their analysts would "tell you why a three-peat will never happen" - when it was all over, even they conceded that there was no reason to believe that.... Randy Moss got his 1 TD, just like he always does, but so what? Raiders put up goose eggs from mid-2nd quarter right on till slop time with 3 minutes to play.... Tom Brady absolutely tore that Raiders secondary to shreds... Charles Who? Woodson was a total no-show, because with 3-5 wide sets and no #1 target, he can't cover EVERYONE.... Heck, he couldn't even cover his main man, Deion Branch... Better get used to the Pats winning over and over again, folks, because Belichick and co have demonstrated loudly that they are by no means diminished by all the losses from last year... m00n
Yeah I gotta give props to the Pats. They are an incredible team. That said, I'm tired of hearing about them. I'm tired of the NFL Network treating these guys like they are better than Christ. There are 31 other teams I'd like to hear about as well. Like.... oh... St Louis. GO RAMS! Griffinator
Hey, in case you hadn't checked, St Louis didn't play last night []
m00n
I knooooooow. [H] But, for day's and day's on the NFL Network it's been Bill Belichick this and Tom Brady that... I mean good lord! Do you get the NFL Network? I know it's on directtv. You get football 365 days a year. [pi]
Griffinator
they did an NFL Network teaser all preseason, but I'm not spending any more than the $90 a month they're already getting me for the cable modem and basic....
m00n
You can always switch to direct tv, it's free. Or rather, part of the extended package. I think.. Well, I know we are not paying extra for it.
Griffinator
That'd be all well and good, but then I'd have to find a different broadband provider, as Adelphia racks you up for $65 a month for the cable modem if you don't have at least 1st-tier ($39 a month) cable access... They only hit you up for $45 if you carry basic...
m00n
They are going to get their money one way or another aint they?

Griffinator
Apparently - no wonder these guys don't care about network broadcast in HD []
Juba310
do either of you know how much the direct tv NFL package costs. I don't have any direct tv related products (box dish or anything)... But i really want to see my team (greenbay) play.
Griffinator
The NFL Network package on DTV is like $200 for the season
m00n
Wait a minute. 200.00? What all does it include? The NFL Network channel itself is free for direct tv customers. I think all you need is just the basic service. Yes, they have some NFL packages, but the actual channel 212 is not extra.
m00n
OMG! The Rams lost to the 49ers. What is this world coming to. I'm still searching for words. Hell, if they can't be the 49ers, we are in for a long dissapointing season. But then again, New England lost to the Dolphins last year and went onto win the superbowl. Not saying the rams will win the superbowl or anyting.

Audible Nectar
The Rams.......OUCH!!!! Being a Rams fan HAS to be maddening.....all that talent and no wins to show for it. I think it's much more disappointing having a "good" team that plays poorly, vs an OK team that has no real expectations and lives up to those (Bears). The Pats are good - but won't get a third straight. Primarily, the defensive losses are my concern with them - the loss of depth on defense will hurt them this year. The loss of Tedy Bruschi is much bigger than would first appear (I liken this to the offense losing Brady). In close games, this will matter. FWIW, I picked the Colts/Skins for the Super Bowl this year.
