scott0527
Insert joke here... Uh...that's gay?No, Corvettes are gay.
audiobliss69
Good on ya for apologizing, man. We all have our faults, and we always will, no matter how far down the road of life we are. The only thing we can do is to try and fix them, which takes a lot of time and effort. But it's worth it.
audiobliss69
No, Corvettes are gay. Man. Don't get me started! I just defended the 'Vette on another board. Hmm...although, I could just paste that post over here.....hehe....
DrWho
well all I will say about the vette is no serious racer ever drives them....heck, even a pontiac grand am GT smokes the vette (talking real race tracks here btw). How do I know? they have street legal car racing at a local track that my family goes to all the time. The vette's/camaros/mustangs are continuously laughed off the track all the time [] I was never much into sticking an image...
audiobliss69
And what do you consider a 'real race track'? How about the Nurburgring Nordschleife in Germany? I'd consider that a real race track. Here are some times for one lap around it: The Nordschleife Hall of Fame: Porsche Carrera GT___________7 min 32 sec Chevrolet Corvette Z06________7 min 42 sec Porsche 996 GT2_____________7min 42 sec Pagani Zonda S______________7 min 44 sec Lamborghini Murcielago________7 min 50 sec Lamborghini Gallardo__________7 min 52 sec Mercedes-McLaren SLR________7 min 52 sec Chevrolet Corvette C6________7 min 59 sec Porsche 911_________________8 min 07 sec Dodge Viper GTS_____________8 min 10 sec If you want something a little more elaborate, I can do that, too. audiobliss69
Oh, and that is, of course, for the new C6 Corvette Z06. One awesome machine!
DrWho
Bah, that track is all about top end [] I'm talking real racing.... 1/3 mile clay track, 30 cars, 30 laps, and no yellow flags!
audiobliss69
Well, with 470lb-ft of torque, a dry weight of 3147lbs, and 0-60 time of 3.5 (and 1/4 mile in 11.5 @ 127.1), I think it'd do just fine on a shorter track, too. It's standing in the rankings for the Nurburgring Nordschleife may mean it has a good top end game, but it also necessitates good handling. NOSValves
The reason those Camaro's and Corvette's are laughed off the track is the drivers that are behind the wheel are usually middle ages man trying to get through there mid life and have no clue how to drive them. Chevrolet performance cars are ridicules to insure I know I've owned many Camaro's. My 1999 SS I sold a few years ago with all stock Engine and trans could peel off a 11.20's at 128 MPH in the quarter and still get 24 mpg cruising down the highway! Of course I sunk about 5K in it after purchase. Those cars run you just have to know how to drive them. Craig Here is my old 67 RS/SS it ran 9.20 @ 159 in the quarter and looked like a basic street cruiser.

jpm
A couple laps at Laguna Seca usually sorts out the men from the boys. Crazytubebs'er, I'll never take you serious again. By admitting you make crap up and that you're a liar, you've lost all credibility with me.
