st. patrick
"great" hardly describes it; some say he is quite dapper, especially with Clu's new hat on his distinguished head.[]
thebes
Only 8 replies, gee you're popular. Thinking of the word "Paltroon". You should recognize it from your early days working a paddlewheeler on the Mississippi. What was Mark Twain like anyways.
3dzapper
Skinny with a mustache. The river was never deeper than twain when he ruled the twine. Then again, Twain could be deep when he was ruled by t' wine. Rick

3dzapper
Nice rhyme... It's just a shame I don't get the line... Back in the days young Sam Clemens and I worked the mighty Mississippi, the Cap'ns had a method to keep their ships off the bottom. We used a thick twine with a lead ball at the end. A knot was tied in the twine marking every three feet. When the river was low or when we met some shoals, a mate would stand on the bow dipping the twine to the bottom. A call the Cap'n never wanted to hear was the call MARK TWAIN!!! With a draft of nearly five feet and just six feet of water, Mark Twain put a shiver in his heart. Later Ole Sam found out people liked to read his school learned writing. Not wanting to be just Samuel Clemens from Hannibal, Mo, he took up the name Mark Twain. You've no doubt seen the excellemt dectective stories penned by our own thebes. Believe it or not, that is not his real name!.-) Rick
