intotubes
Strange. Interesting. Not sure how rear firing mids & tweets would result in "room filling sound". Maybe if you turned it around - ugly side out - it would sound OK.
Coytee
Notice the backside pics... seem kind of bashed up to anyone? Looks to me like it has been dropped, kicked or other
Zealot125
I liked the look of those "massive bass woofers". []
boom3
Balderdash. This is some (poorly informed) person's attempt to put two channels in a blanket chest. The "provenance" quoted in the ad reeks.
Daddy Dee
I couldn't imagine anyone spending that kind of money for that.
Coytee
someone asked Q:how are the surrounds on woofers.. and will bose still fix these if necessary.and his answer is/was A:The woofers work, but could easily be replaced with newer woofers--almost a pop-out, pop-in replacement. These speakers were built by Dr Bose before Bose Corp days, so they are not affiliated with the company. Now does that sound suspicous or wha? I'd bet if they were really done before Bose Corp, that perhaps the Bose (insert registered tradmark here) would WANT them back as part of their history???I'll bet they've never heard of them. djk
The tweeters are Philips AD0160 from around 1972, David Weems used this part in many of his designs in Popular Elecronics/Radio Electronics. This guy is a consumate BS artist.
pauln
"In 1964 he founded Bose Corporation when he was teaching at MIT and the rest is marketing." From the back it looks sort of like a giant version of the table top radio Bose is pushing now.

Coytee
[:$] Just always curious what the "other side" is doing. Other than my EV's (which I bought first), I've been 100% faithful to my LaScalas since 1980 and happy with my Khorn additions to the family, even if the wife isn't.
