Mobile is correct

If a person verbally abuses the moderator, I don't see them having any business on the forum.

Well,

although I know about 95% of this forum wont agree, this sentence is a

bit troubling to me. In my opinion, your moderating duties are there

to help the forum itself. Let's say you get into a personal conflict

with a member that has done nothing within the forum that anyone can

see as being against the rules. Yet within a discussion that might

turn sour, would you in turn BAN this member from the entire Klipsch

Forum? Personally, I think this is misuse of the position if this was

ever the case.

I am in the 5% who agree with Mobile. Having a thread locked down because Mobile dared

to express himself about another member daring to express himself is even more troubling, almost funny in a certain kind of way.

Once again, Parrot, you speak out of turn. Mobile's posting was NOT why that thread was locked.

And if you're in the 5% who think I shouldn't ban a member who was verbally abusive to me, then you're entitled to that opinion. I however, will not put up with it, and shouldn't have to put up with it. I am here to do a job, not make friends (although it's a nice bonus).

That's a VERY Hitlerian position for one to assume.

Quite troubling to hear speech like that in America on a forum that's commercially driven and open to the public.

huh?

This is Klipsch's forum ...

so play by their rules...

if you do not like it..then do not visit...

kinda simple actually...

If Klipsch does not like something or someone on their forum they can do what ever they want...It is theirs...they own it...they pay for it...and they allow us to visit and interact...

The choice to be personally responsoible for conforming to their rules is your responsibilty not theirs....

Why is it people think they can type whatever they want on someone else's property....

Would you like it if your neighbors painted grafiti on your house?

Off my soapbox...

Ps...I am an admin of a forum and put up with crap all day from people with no respect for what they deem is theirs to do whatever they want without respect for the consequences...

Wow.

I'm not sure how to react to being compared to Hitler. I think I'll need to step away for a minute to avoid a knee-jerk reaction.

This is one of the most tenderfoot forums there is .... !! you guys who have no other intrests then audio should really check out the forum world out there !!

This place is nice and reserved in comparison .. you should all be happy with how civil folks are here and polite and willing to help out ..

I'm on a few health and fitness forums that guys come right out and tell you your an f "n loser and go hide under a rock if your such a pansy !! There opinions are the only ones that matter and if you disagree they will haunt you on every thread you dare to post into ...

Now if this forum ran rampant like that ... no one would dare ask a silly question in fear of being called out infront of the world .. This is a good place and if the moderators here want to put in the time and effort to keep it that way then good on them .

For all the a$$holes out there that want to bait the less informed of us inorder to exercise there cerebral cortex ... i'll send you a link to a place where you too can be beat into the ground and made to feel like you make others feel .. we'll see just how long you last againstt you own kind ...

The administrators of this forum have decided where the line in the sand is drawn and made that clear to most of us who have been around for a few years ... I can see a newbie being read the riot act .. but the vets should know better then to bait the mods

hi,

Some of the other forums I belong to ban members for being abusive. I think the moderator of this forum does a good job.

Larry

What in the hell are you folks talking about? It's AUDIO and it's

primarily being discussed by MEN, or at least I thought so.

Wanna talk football, politics or what brand of beer is the best? Then a whole lot more people could be banned.

Political correctness and the feminizing of American men has become ridiculous.

I guess the 95% I keep hearing about are all "metrosexuals" and pose no threat.

This thread is a joke, right?

Ms. Unger,

I did not compare you to Hitler, just your statement.

Read what you wrote as if it were written by someone else, in the

context of a discussion on censorship, or the Patriot Act or whatever

you wish.

There's a HUGE difference between the "feminizing of American men" and common decency.

Hmmmm........I've had a few heated discussions and even some name

calling in the past but would not want to see any one of those members

ban. That option should be used only for the worst of the worst w/no

redeeming quality, porno etc.I know there are plenty of sites that would

ban you at the drop of a hat,Klipsch is not and I hope it never is.

Sorry, I'm not seeing how this is censorship at all, or anything wrong with what I wrote. This is a private forum--you must be a member to post. We own this forum, we can remove it at any time with no lawful repercussions.

My job is to monitor the forum to make sure it best represents Klipsch. I'm not here out of enjoyment, to learn about audio, or to make friends--I can't just leave when I don't like what's going on. My job is to fix it. The difference is huge.

I seem to recall in my first thread (the infamous Ratings thread) a member getting upset enough to threaten lawsuits, to which the "offender" (very wittingly) offered up Judge Judy's phone number. I say the best thing to do was let these folks banter it out.

All the time, we encounter people who are rude or say things that offend. That's life. I'm glad we're in America, where the right to express one's own non-sense was guaranteed in the First Amendment. Too bad some private institutions don't feel the same way about public speech.

I'm not a big fan of banning people from what is supposed to be a "forum." They should get to say whatever nonsense they want to - so long as it is not too extreme, like threats of physical harm or crime, or profanity, etc.

So how bad was DF's conduct to justify a ban?

BTW: Call me anything but late for supper. [;)]
