Hitsquad contains for software than you will ever need. The link it to the audio restoration software. DartPro works very well. The links says Windows 95, but that just happens to be where all the Windows software is located. Careful though, you'll end up spending hours here.

I have been trying to find an article about someone from MIT who would

make image scans of the records and then with a computer program

unravel the groves then it would remove scratchs and pops. It was used

for vinyl that was so bad it could be played yet so cultural important

that they developed this program to save them. He was giving it away

for free I believe it ran on the linux os which can also be had for

free. Does this sound familiar does anyone have a link?

seti,

I had a link to a site that had the software and samples of work, but it sounded pretty awful. Doesn't mean it isn't better now though. I'll see if I have something hidden in all the files I've accumulated over the past couple of years. It did run on linux.

I forget what the registration fee was but I'm thinking $10 to

$30. Good program, automatic and manual click and depoppers,

written by a guy in England solely with lps in mind.

Only hardware you'll need is a 2 to 1 stereo adapter for input the tt into the sound card.

Filtering out some of the clicks and pops is a must have option.
