customsteve01 Posted January 31, 2006 Share Posted January 31, 2006 Its pretty neat how things happen around here. Thebes and www.records posted about a pair of LaScalas for sale in the DC area. I e-mailed the seller (Brian) and set up a time to get with him to check these out. I talked several times to GaryMD about these and had planned on looking at the speakers around noon today And he had said he would go with me if his workload permitted. well things at home came up and I was not able to make it up to DC until around 5 pm. Well Gary had talked to LarryC and he told Gary that he would be willing to go check them out with me. I met up with Larry around 4:30 at his house and was able to hear his amassing system for a little while. We drove out to the sellers house, after I saw and heard these I knew they were going home with me. I just want to thank all those that helped me in my Quest for LasScalas. One member matched driver SN's for me out of his stash. Lots of other help finding equipment. I took a trip to Damon Paynes house last summer, to pick up Heresys, because he was at work, so that I could give them to Mike Coulter as he passed through town on his way to Dr Who's house. Could talk longer but I have to go out to the barn and play my Lascalas. Oops! No barn. Guess I'll have to mosey ( barn and mosey seem to go together) down to Steve's one of these days for a listen. And I have delivered like 4 pairs of speakers to colter? I forget. But ya, we were talking about getting a klipsch caravan going where equipment could be sent from home to home until the final destination. It would be an excuse to go hang out with forum buddies, a way to demo gear, and a way to get speakers shipped safely from A/B (not to mention cheaper).
